The study of this 54ha zone in the dense city centre includes the complete analysis of the urban situation and the development of priorities and issues to define a revitalization strategy. The other strategies under consideration tend to reinforce the multifunctionality and include a reflection on the density and types of dwellings. A study was also carried out to render the public spaces multifunctional in order to encourage their neutralization. The socio-economic operations were selected on the basis of their specificity and complementarity with regard to the existing situation.
In practice, the 4-year programme proposes 117 dwellings, 5 projects for the (re)development of public spaces or roads, 4 collective facilities and 9 socio-economic operations.
The participatory process involving the area’s residents and organizations included three phases: physical and non-physical surveys of the zone, publication of a call for ideas, and possibility of participating in the choice of the operations via a market for operations.
